As part of CAIR-Chicago's Church Outreach Program, Communications Director Ahmed Rehab visited the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs to speak with Church members on Islam, American Muslims, and related topics. The fireside chat provided an opportunity for Church-going Americans to address questions directly to a Muslim official.
The Church Project was created with the intention of facilitating understanding and appreciation between non-Muslim Americans and their Muslim counterparts. A different Church somewhere in Illinois is visited every one or two weeks.
Rehab and a senior pastor of the Western Springs Presbyterian Church agreed to set up two Muslim-Presbyterian family nights to be held once at the church and once at the partnering Mosque. Families can interact and learn more about each other's faiths and issues.
